The "Countries in Perspective" (CiP) project is an undertaking that was initiated by the DLIFLC Curriculum Development Division (CDD) in July 2003. Every effort has been made to find and cite information from reputable sources. Content is presented in objective, fact-based, and non-editorialized form.

Each study starts with a Country Profile section containing basic facts about the target country, followed by selected themes organized under the major headings of Geography, History, Economy, Society and Security. Each study concludes with an achievement test type assessment module.
