The Curriculum Development Division at the Defense Language Institute develops online courses and materials. The Onlinelearning Sustainment and Enhancement Language Courses have already been developed in Arabic, Chinese-Mandarin and Korean. The target audience for these materials is a ILR level 1 to 1+ language learner. The materials focus on improving both listening and reading comprehension up to and beyond ILR level 2. These courses are designed to function as standalone, self-paced programs or as instructor-mediated programs. All in all, each of the three courses rounds out approximately 30-40 hours of online instruction.


Onlinelearning Sustainment and Enhancement materials are also available in Persian, Russia and Serbian/Croatian.
